Our Vision and Values

The Library Monitor Association (LMA) envisions school libraries that are welcoming, organized, and supportive environments for learning. We believe that students can play a meaningful role in supporting library operations and improving the experience of those who use them.

Our vision is to encourage responsible student participation in library support services, while fostering respect for knowledge, cooperation, and a culture of learning within school communities.

Through collaboration, initiative, and dedication to service, we aim to help libraries remain spaces where students can study, explore ideas, and access information comfortably and efficiently.
This approach allows us to maintain a consistent and standardized structure for our services while ensuring compliance with the regulations and expectations of each institution in which we operate.

Service

We are committed to assisting libraries and their users through practical support, organization, and care for library resources.

Respect for Learning

Libraries represent knowledge and discovery. We value the role libraries play in education and strive to uphold environments that support study and intellectual curiosity.

Responsibility

Members of the LMA carry out their duties with care, reliability, and integrity, understanding the trust placed in them by library staff and the school community.

Cooperation

The LMA operates through teamwork and collaboration, working respectfully with library staff, students, and school administration.

Student Initiative

We believe students can contribute positively to their learning environments by participating in meaningful service and taking initiative in improving their school communities.

Care for Resources

Libraries contain valuable materials and information. We promote proper handling, organization, and preservation of these resources.
